Acknowledgements about publication of The Five-colored Eyes Method (FEM)

In writing this book, I want to express deep gratitude to the many people who gave me the courage to create and the lenses to explore.

Inspiration — The Works That Lit My First Spark

As a boy, I was deeply moved by “K.I.T.T.” from *Knight Rider*. An “AI as a buddy”—autonomous, yet supportive of humans. That image later became a solid foundation when I decided to rebuild FEM together with AI. I offer heartfelt respect to the creative team, and to the buddy duo of K.I.T.T. and Michael Knight (Mr. David Hasselhoff). The very feel of the phrase **“AI Buddy”** in this book is an homage to that work.

Philosophical Influence — The People Who Strengthened My Backbone

Gratitude to Mr. Mamoru Taneda

He is the person who taught me the concept of the Five-Colored Eyes.

Beyond that, he had a major impact on my understanding of structured thinking.

He has supported me in both professional and personal life, and I would like to offer my renewed and deepest thanks.

Mr. Stephen R. Covey

*The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People* and *The 8th Habit* profoundly influenced my mindset.

This book was created with his philosophy as a foundation.

I express deep gratitude and respect.

Gratitude to Mr. Buckminster Fuller

In my youth, I heard the word “trim tab.”

His metaphor means: “You can’t suddenly turn the helm of the whole world, but you can guide its direction with a small trim tab.”

This concept supported me across half my life.

I hope the systematization of the Five-Colored Eyes Method (FEM) and the way of collaborating with AI described in this book can become such a trim tab.

Once again, I offer deep thanks to him for bringing this concept into my life.

Technological Foundation — Gratitude for the Technical Base

OpenAI’s ChatGPT

OpenAI’s ChatGPT ran alongside me as my **AI Buddy** from the first moment of this book to the last.

– A design philosophy that prioritizes safety above all

– A direction aligned with human-centered Cognitive Extension

– Ethical guardrails via a capped-profit structure

– Evolution toward a “buddy-style AI,” including personalized memory

These resonated deeply with my vision.

This book is an independent personal work and has no affiliation with OpenAI, but I offer sincere gratitude for the strong benefit I received from its technology and philosophy.

Mr. John MacFarlane and the Pandoc Community

During the writing and editing process, I was greatly helped by the open-source document conversion tool **pandoc**.

Thanks to Mr. MacFarlane and everyone in the development and contributor community, I was able to move freely between Markdown, Word, EPUB, and other formats—and focus on refining the content itself.

The fact that this book can keep a consistent shape across print and digital formats, and across different writing environments, rests on the steady effort of those who continue polishing such tools.

I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation here.

i-on Co., Ltd.

They provided part of the web environment, PoC environment, and writing environment necessary for reviewing and authoring this book.

I would like to express my thanks.
